Join Me in the Fight Against Breast Cancer
My name is Dan Odeny, and my goal is to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer in a unique way, so I've created Flight for Hope in order to ccomplish this! I want to help Susan G. Komen save lives and end breast cancer forever. I’m taking my first step towards a world without breast cancer by raising funds through the sale of visual art through tying the images of birds and the symbolic meaning they have with relation to breast cancer and in our personal lives to create awareness, enabling interpersonal interactions and stopping this disease that affects 1 in 8 women during their lifetime.
My inspiration stems from the tragedy my mother went through when battling this grave disease. Her experience left in me an overwhelming burden to dedicate time and effort in talking about this issue and having an active form of communication with everybody and those that have gone through the stain, that their struggle has inspiired strength in everyone and that support is always within reach. The discussion about breast cancer is both personal, and communal and concerns all of us. Thus, creating awareness, through diverse media, helps in saving the lives of the women around us, who are not only women, but are our sisters, mothers, colleagues, partners, and friends.
As the world’s largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen supports more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside the U.S. government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease.
You can make a donation online independently with your credit card by clicking the button above my fundraising thermometer, or by through the purchase of a painting on my Etsy page, that is accompanied with a postcard with a symbolic, integral meaning, behind its relationship to the fight against cancer. All donations and proceeds go to Susan G. Komen.
Thank you for supporting me in Flight for Hope as I participate in support of ending breast cancer forever.
